Gather Round to Squee Over The "Wonder Woman 1984" First Look Images

Production on the "Wonder Woman" sequel has officially begun, and Warner Bros. has confirmed not only the title of the sequel, but that actor Chris Pine is returning, as well.

The image of Gadot features her in character as Diana Prince, standing in front of a wall of TV screens.

This photo may be an example of something Jenkins mentioned at CinemaCon, saying that the 1980s setting of the film will hold temptations for Diana. It is possible that the WW84 logo, which seems to indicate that the film will take place specifically in the year 1984, was chosen as a deliberate homage to George Orwell's classic dystopian novel 1984. Yes, against all odds, Steve Trevor lives, though writer-director Patty Jenkins is yet to offer an explanation for his surprise return and, frankly, that's okay, as the filmmaker is likely fighting to keep spoilers at bay. "The most exciting thing about [the sequel] is literally seeing her loose in the world now, living those classic stories". We'd like to think the second image in the first row depicts the invisible plane, but then it wouldn't be visible on the monitor, would it?

While the rest of the DCEU is in something of a state of flux with talks of Ben Affleck exiting his Batman role, the success of 2017's Wonder Woman made a sequel all-but guaranteed.

In the two pictures - Jenkins and Gadot shared one each - we see Steve Trevor, played by Chris Pine, looking slightly older than we last saw him, surrounded by what appears to be people dressed in '80s clothing. Let us know what you think in the comments!
