  • Respawn Entertainment Reveals Name and Setting of Star Wars Project; Coming Holiday 2019

Respawn Entertainment's Vince Zampella just announced the name of their new Star Wars game, which we've known as being in development for a while. If you're talking about a Star Wars game set in the ashes of Order 66, with the Jedi dead and a lone padawan running scared, Respawn is a team that knows how to nail those feels and fear in equal measure.

The game has been in production for a good few years but EA are not ready to show anything of the game, and you've got bit of wait before it hit's the shelves and as it won't be out until Christmas 2019.

Zampella revealed that players will take on the role of a Jedi during the "dark times", which he went on to clarify is between "Episode III and Episode IV". With Titanfall 2 not being as well-received as EA and Respawn would have liked, it makes a new entry unlikely, and with the official Star Wars account also teasing some EA Play news, a new Star Wars game could be on the cards.

Electronic Arts has the first press briefing of this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo. Why could it be a new Star Wars game? There is no word yet on who players will be controlling in the game, but fingers crossed we'll see some familiar faces like Obi-Wan Kenobi (mainly so we can get a Ewan McGregor voice cameo). It's unclear if there will be a multiplayer mode at this time. Barring any delays, the game sounds like the title many Star Wars fans have been waiting for.

Asmussen wrote in an announcement on the official Respawn website that, "We promise to pay respect to the Star Wars legacy at all times, a fact that will be constantly reinforced and honored as a central game design tenet".
