A service dog went into labor and delivered eight puppies in the middle of a terminal at Tampa International Airport on Friday.

Paramedics from the Tampa Fire Rescue assisted the 2-year-old golden retriever named Eleanor Rigby to give birth to seven males and a female puppy, in an occasion enjoyed by all the travelers who were present near Gate F-81. "That's all", said Diane Van Atter, owner of Ellie the service dog.

The puppies, their parents, and humans missed the flight.

"I have to go, the father is getting excited", she said.

Both Eleanor Rigby and Golden Nugget are service dogs to Van Atter, who suffers from mobility and pain issues, an airport spokeswoman told the publication.

Van Atter said people from all over came over to help, and thankfully she had packed towels just in case. The family, puppies and all, will be driving to Philadelphia instead, about 1,000 miles.

Eleanor Rigby - nicknamed Ellie for short - was all set to board her flight to Philadelphia at Tampa International Airport when it became clear that a more pressing matter was underway. They were aware that Ellie was pregnant, but didn't realize how far along she was.
