Jackson was the fifth quarterback off the board in Kiper's mock draft after - in order - Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, Josh Allen and Josh Rosen.

The Browns drafted defensive end Myles Garrett first in 2017, then added safety Jabrill Peppers and tight end David Njoku later in the first round.

Allen acknowledged and apologized for the tweets late Wednesday night, telling ESPN's Stephen A. Smith they were the product of immaturity and youthful ignorance. Sports were sent in 2012 and 2013, when Allen was in high school.

"I hope you know and others know I'm not the type of person I was at 14 and 15 that I tweeted so recklessly".

ESPN says the tweets were removed from Allen's account when it was vetted in January.

"It sucks. My family is hurting".

Allen has been talked about as a possible number one pick in the draft, the annual event which sees the 32 teams in the National Football League take turns in recruiting the top players from college gridiron.

Not many folks know where the Cleveland Browns will do during today's National Football League draft, but there is a "mounting belief" from rival coaches and general managers that the franchise will indeed select Baker Mayfield with the 1st overall pick, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

This will be the first-ever franchise pick by John Dorsey, the Browns new general manager.
