  • Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah is wanted by Real Madrid this summer

Liverpool will not be facing Barcelona in the last four after the Catalan giants surrendered a 4-1 aggregate lead to lose to Roma.

Salah has enjoyed an incredible first season with Liverpool following a £34-million ($48 million) move from Roma that now looks a bargain deal for the Reds.

In the second half, Brazilian João Pedro netted a late consolation for Al-Fateh, but the night and the victory was Al-Hilal's, who were crowned 2018 Saudi League champions, with a convincing first half display to win their 15th league title.

Mohamed Salah has broken the Premier League record for the most Player of the Month awards in a single season. We were very close to each other and we are good friends.

"Now we are there together - so that's quite a cool moment and I'm really happy about it". We played together for two years and were fighting together in all the games. In the same time we pretty much didn't win anything as a club.

The draw means Roma will come up against their former star man Salah twice in a week.

The speedy winger also said he can't wait to catch up with Totti, an iconic Roma figure who retired from professional football at the end of last season.

"He is fantastic, unbelievable", says Salah.

"About a month ago I said that Salah was on De Bruyne's coattails but now I honestly think he's gone past him".

Apart from leading the Premier League in scoring, Salah is tied for second in the Champions League this term - behind Ronaldo of course - alongside hard-working teammate Roberto Firmino on eight goals and Sevilla's Wissam Ben Yedder.

In the other semi-final, Bayern face Real, with the first leg in Germany on April 25.

"We can, we are in the semifinal", Salah said.

"All people went into the quarterfinal with this emotion that we've now to win, we'll do it".

"It will be two hard games because they are fantastic side", Klopp added.

Salah added: "We can [win the Champions League]".

Salah's six goals last month made him March's top scorer as he surged ahead in the race for the 2017/18 Golden Boot. "When we came out for the Champions League training against Manchester City I said to the boys, 'We go out naked because no one will notice - they are only here to see if Mo is okay!'"

Salah now sits on 29 league goals, the joint most in Europe alongside Lionel Messi, and could become the first African to lift the European Golden Shoe. "I see the positive things but do not feel them because there is a job to do".
