The most-viewed YouTube video of all time, Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's "Despacito", disappeared from YouTube today after being defaced by hackers. When users tried to play the song they reported that a message said the video was unavailable.

Tuesday's security breach exclusively affected a handful of video that originate on Vevo.

In addition the two hackers, reportedly known as Prosox and Kuroi'sh, also wrote the words "Free Palestine" in the description.

Other artists troubled by this instance are Selena Gomez, Drake, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Shakira, DJ Snake and Chris Brown.

A hacker using the online moniker of Kuroi'SH claimed responsibility for the breach in a series of tweets, revealing that he also hacked rapper Post Malone, and YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki. The defacement includes titles of the videos being changes to include the names of the hackers, the cover image changed, however, most of the content of videos remained unchanged. Buzzfeed say that Vevo did not immediately reply to their request for comment.

When you search the video on Google, a still image appears showing several masked figures aiming guns at the camera.

Viewers searching for the wildly popular "Despacito" music video saw something unexpected on Tuesday.

"Don't judge me I love YouTube", it added. The video had over 5 billion views.

Cyber-security expert Prof Alan Woodward, from Surrey University, said it was unlikely that the hacker had been able to gain access so easily.

According to some reports, the hackers had deleted Despacito and other songs "just for fun".
