The police had made tight security arrangements.

Salman's one of the closest friend from Bollywood Preity Zinta, who visited the actor in the jail yesterday, posted an inspirational message on Instagram that read "Hope is seeing light inspite of being surrounded by darkness". A few fans even chased the actor's cavalcade for some distance.

He was supposed to get bail on Friday however, that didn't happen and then on Saturday salman's Lawyer pleaded again and judge decided that the order will be passed after lunch.

Judge Joshi, who is in the middle of the annual reshuffle of judges in Rajasthan, had, on Friday, put off the hearing by a day as he wanted to go through the entire case record before making a decision. But he can't leave the country without the court's permission.

Meanwhile, the Bishnoi community, which reveres the blackbuck, has chose to move the Rajasthan high court challenging the bail granted to Khan, according to Ram Niwas, the secretary of the Bishnoi Tiger Force. His co-stars Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam Kothari, also accused in the case, were acquitted. But Salman's lawyers insisted the PM report was based on the bones of the animal and the skin, which is very crucial in such tests, was not examined.

Judge, who was transferred the night before, decides to hear the bail plea and grants conditional bail. He had been sentenced to prison terms of between one and five years in related cases before being acquitted by appeals courts for lack of evidence.

He had told the court that the eyewitness in the case was "not reliable" and "it was never proved that he had firearms".

Khan has been convicted under Section 9 of the Act, which prohibits hunting of wild animals.

His attorney Mahesh Bora has challenged the conviction and sentence, and Khan will remain free pending the outcome of the appeal.

Throughout the multiple cases, eyewitnesses have stated they saw Khan firing a gun in October 1998.

Worldwide desk - Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has been released on bail after he spent two nights in jail following a court sentenced him five years in prison in a 1998 poaching case.

"This case shouldn't be seen in the same way with the ones in which Khan has been acquitted by the High Court".

The judge had yesterday reserved his decision on Khan's bail plea till today after hearing arguments on the suspension of sentence and the bail application.

After his conviction on Thursday, prominent figures in India's film industry rallied to Mr. Khan's defense, noting his "humanitarian work" and calling for leniency in the bail proceedings. After the bail, Salman is expected to resume work on Remo D'Souza directorial Race 3.
