Fox News host Laura Ingraham is seeing a growing number of advertisers leave her show over a widely derided tweet in which she mockedParkland survivor David Hogg. He said Ingraham only extended the apology when her show began to lose advertisers. In a statement provided to HuffPost, Johnson & Johnson said they also plan to pull advertising.
"#ShutUpAndBeObjective", Hogg tweeted later Thursday, playing off Ingraham's previous suggestion that LeBron James should "shut up and dribble" after James criticized President Donald Trump.
"That's what she does when she tries to apologize to me, she promotes her own show?"
"*Waits till we boycott her advertisers to apologize* wow", Lauren Hogg tweeted.
ABC News has reached out to Fox News for comment. "(Dinged by UCLA with a 4.1 GPA...totally predictable given acceptance rates.)" she wrote, before linking to an article that called Hogg a "gun rights provocateur". "You're not going to support free speech".
Unfortunately for Ingraham, the Twitter war was only just heating up; Fred Guttenberg, the father of 14-year-old Jaime Guttenberg who was slain in the massacre, reacted to the statement.
It may yet come to pass that the next unintended casualty of Nikolas Cruz's rampage is Laura Ingraham's career.
Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg says he is refusing to accept Laura Ingraham's apology. "I will only accept your apology only if you denounce the way your network has treated my friends and I in this fight. It's time to love thy neighbor, not mudsling at children", Hogg said on Twitter.
Ingraham had faced immediate backlash over her original tweet Wednesday from those shocked by her attack on a teenager who had survived the mass shooting in Parkland, Fla. She then published the transcript, outing many of them to classmates, and sent tapes of the meetings to the students' parents. "Really?" Hogg told The News.
Ingraham and other Fox News hosts have characterized Hogg and his classmates as frantic anti-gun left-wingers in the wake of the February 14 Parkland shooting that left 17 people dead.
Hogg told TMZ this week that several colleges had rejected him, but dismissed the rejections in the face of his and his classmates' advocacy.
"David Hogg Rejected By Four Colleges To Which He Applied and whines about it", Ingraham said in the tweet.
The basketball players, who have both been outspoken on social and racial justice issues, called Ingraham's comments demeaning and "racist".

If this seems somewhat familiar, you may remember that it was about a year ago when longtime Fox News host Bill O'Reilly took what he said was a pre-planned break while dealing with an exodus of advertisers from his program.
It was unclear whether any of the brands would change their minds after Ingraham apologized.
"The question is if the corporations do go back, what are they sponsoring?" It said that it will not be purchasing any more ads.
