  • Avengers and Other Super Heroes to Assemble at Disney Parks Worldwide

From the early information, it does seem these new Marvel attractions won't be as immersive as some of Disney's other existing themed lands, such as Pandora: The World of Avatar, or the upcoming Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.

The new area will also connect to Guardians of the Galaxy-Mission: Breakout!, the recent Marvel-themed ride that took over the old Tower of Terror in California Adventure's Hollywood Land area.

Spider-Man, Iron Man, Ant-Man, Wasp and other superheros are seen next to the Avengers symbol in three promotional posters for the new expansions that Disney highlights in an announcement video released Tuesday. "We are excited to take the next step by immersing our guests in this ever-expanding universe - and this is only the beginning!" The new area will be taking over the space now occupied by A Bug's Land, a short sliver of ground that features a few kid-friendly carnival rides themed to A Bug's Life. The attraction will be joined by ones involving Spider-Man and the Avengers. This expanded presence will begin recruiting guests in 2020, furthering the evolution of Disney California Adventure park. That area will be added to the Iron Man Experience, which was added to the park previous year and is already one of its most popular attractions.

Meanwhile, Hong Kong will get an attraction that involves Ant-Man and The Wasp, whose film counterpart is out later this year. The expansion at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort will bring a new attraction or entertainment offering nearly every year through 2023. This will follow an epic experience launching this summer, when Disneyland Paris hosts Marvel Summer of Super Heroes from June 10 to September 30.
