  • Conte and Mourinho offer embattled PSG star escape route after Champions League humiliation

PSG star Neymar has told Lionel Messi that he fancies a return to Barcelona.

Neymar essentially forced his way out of the club by handing in a transfer request, with Barca eventually letting him go after PSG activated his €222 million release clause.

In late January, media reports said that Neymar would join Real if he helped PSG win the 2017/2018 Champions League. Some analysts believe the constant talk about Neymar being in the shadow of former teammates Lionel messi prompted him to seek sojourn elsewhere with a view to maintaining and enjoying his identity.

However, according to the report by Mundo Deportivo, the 26-year-old forward now seems to be regretting his decision of leaving the Catalan club. He has reportedly expressed his desire to his former colleagues and is now looking to make his case in front of the Barcelona boardroom.

However, despite scoring 29 goals and assisting another 19 strikes in just 30 appearances so far this season, Mundo Deportivo has suggest that Neymar has sent messages to former teammates and club representatives saying he would be prepared to return. The Brazilian also didn't expect that level of Ligue 1 is so inferior to Spanish top flight.

'€400m for Neymar? When Madrid bought me for €72m, it seemed insane, ' said the Real Madrid manager.

Real coach Zinedine Zidane said on Friday: "Neymar could play in all the clubs because he is very good, like many players".

Neymar is now recovering from a foot surgery in Brazil after suffering a broken metatarsal last month.

His goals have helped the Parisians open up an 11-point gap at the top of Ligue 1 ahead of reigning French champions Monaco, however he is now recovering after breaking a bone in his foot.
