Yesterday Salute reported that rapper Vince Staples had set up a GoFundMe campaign to let his haters know that he was willing to retire should they wish to fund it.

Over a piano-led beat, Vince raps, "Press is trying to block my blessings / No more talking events / NPR and XXL, man, I can't tell which is which".

The Los Angeles rapper suffered some criticism for his live shows earlier in the week, prompting Vince Staples to launch a GoFundMe account. We'd like to apologise for that.

"You can decide to donate to the cause of 2 million dollars, which will allow me to shut the fuck up forever, and you will never hear from me again", Staples says in his video for the campaign.

On the page, Staples says he will agree to move to Palmdale, California, buy a Honda and a puppy, and pay for a "year supply of soups for the homies locked down".

The clever marketing strategy could lead up to a new album from Staples, who released his sophomore album Big Fish Theory last June.

He goes on: "We would like to give you an alternative".

Just $2 million? Seems kind of low by today's standards. No songs, interviews, no anything. "Do people understand that if you fund him, you hate what he does and want him to quit?" one commenter wrote on the page.
