Samsung 2018 QLED TVs Mystify With Invisibility Cloak When Powered Off

  • A new QLED TV against a brick wall

The South Korean tech giant on Wednesday announced its 2018 lineup of QLED TVs and the standout feature is what Samsung calls "ambient mode", which mimics the colors and patterns of the walls around it. Ambient Mode can harmonize with the TV's backdrop, showcase a lovely picture or display useful information. One of which is "Ambient Mode". The Ambient Mode zone showcased how the QLED TV can redefine what it means to be "off" with new capabilities created to transform the TV into a functional screen which provides information such as news, weather and traffic, and which can also play music or blend into the wall behind it. Nevertheless, it still is a cool concept to make the TV nearly invisible. You then point the camera at the display, which builds an image on the screen to match the wall behind it. Users can also add various effects to spice things up, like having mountains or clouds float on your wall.

"With our 2018 TV lineup, we are changing the definition of visual display to Intelligent Displays", said Samsung Electronics President Jong-hee Han. The Ambient Mode will also provide information like local weather updates and important news throughout the day. With the One Invisible Connection concept introduced previous year, the company made the wire almost invisible by allowing all components to be connected into a stand-alone One Connect box. Now there will be only one singular cord between the TV, external devices and the power connection.

"These include Direct Full Array, new smart functionality featuring Bixby and the redesigned One Invisible Connection".

The TVs are also packed with a few other nifty features, such as thin cables. By bringing everything together under a single mobile SmarthThings app, Samsung has now simplified its approach to the smart home.

"The company also debuted many exciting new features that enable incredible picture quality, smart capabilities and unique design elements that allow the TV to effortlessly complement the home's décor".

Brands are increasingly focused on building smart home products that are more design-friendly.

The QLED series includes the Q9, Q8, Q7, and Q6 - differentiated on the basis of price and image quality.

The 65-inch Q6F model will run you $2,200, while you'll have to shell out $3,800 for the comparable Q9F. FALD should offer even better black levels, contrast and brightness control for HDR content in particular in these QLEDs.

The mode is just meant to give the illusion of invisibility between watching TV, and when you want to show off your new television to a visitor.

Mr Mahdi told 9NEWS: "Our 2018 QLED range is created to bring Australians together to enjoy the best TV experience we have ever offered". Samsung hasn't laid out exactly how this technology works, or how it differs to full array backlighting, but the information the company has given reveals they work in a similar way.

Samsung showcased its 2018 QLED TV catalog that introduces a new feature to make it invisible when idle.
