When they searched him, they said Hunt had Lana del Rey concert tickets and, according to the affidavit, he pulled a 3-inch blade folding knife that the man allegedly possessed.

The statement said: "The threats were reportedly made by Michael Hunt, 43, of Riverview, Florida".

He had tickets to see her show as well as a knife but wasn't able to come near her.

Hunt did not make contact with Del Rey, whose real name is Elizabeth Grant, police said.

"Michael Hunt, for aggravated stalking & attempted kidnapping w/a weapon", the authorities tweeted.

Police in the USA have arrested a man they considered to be a "credible threat" after he allegedly plotted to kidnap singer Lana Del Rey.

He said: "I'm going to probably finish out her tour with her, obviously, and dance and talk and figure out what we're going to do".

"I'm letting my feet rest before I take off with Lana", he added.

About 8000 fans were expected at the concert in Orlando, police told the Sentinel.

Lana Del Rey has been playing arenas since the start of the New Year, with venues including Pepsi Center, Target Center and Capital One Arena. "They all know I'm here". The Florida Department of Corrections shows he served five separate sentences in state prisons between 1991 and 2014, for 33 separate offenses, of forgery, burglary, grand theft, fleeing and eluding, and drug charges.

Hunt is still at the Orange County Jail and is being held on no bond.

Despite the freakish news, Lana still said "thank you" to all of her fans in Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami. Support is now from Kali Uchis.
