  • Jamie Lee Curtis looks totally different with long hair

The new Halloween movie will be a direct continuation of the original film (ignoring the other films of the canon) and hits cinemas on October 19th 2018. John Carpenter, director of the original 1978 "Halloween", is executive producing.

As Deadline reported in September 2017, Curtis signed up to take on her original Halloween character Laurie Strode, who she first played in the 1978 film, in the franchise's upcoming release.

Jamie Lee Curtis says "first shot" in both of these posts. A new Halloween movie, of course!

The 59-year-old actress was almost unrecognizable in long blonde hair as she was in character to play Laurie Strode. As you can see, she has the same hair style she had in the first two films.

The film is particularly intriguing because co-writers Danny McBride and David Gordon Green (who's also directing) have chose to ignore every single sequel to the original film (including, apparently, Halloween II, which takes place on the same night) and create a new version of Laurie Strode as a woman with a different life (including a daughter) four decades after that night of terror. The pair are breathing new life into original film franchise (not counting Rob Zombie's reboots) that has lied dormant since 2002 with Halloween Resurrection. It might just be a novelty, but it feels like a symbol of just how much Green and McBride revere Carpenter's first film.

The movie is said to have Strode in her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked killer who has been haunting her since she first escaped his brutal killing spree four decades earlier. Headed back to Haddonfield one last time for Halloween, ' she wrote. The original film's director will also once again provide a score for the movie. We still have awhile to go before the first trailer hits.
