He also performed Tom Petty's "Wildflowers" with Emmylou Harris to introduce the In Memoriam section of the show.

The Stapleton show starts a busy stretch at UM, with Pearl Jam set to perform in Washington-Grizzly Stadium on August 13. The music video-which was filmed in a single shot at L.A.'s historic Bradbury Building-has been viewed over 7 million times since it was released last Thursday.

Stapleton won Best Country Album for "From A Room: Volume 1", out-voting Kenny Chesney's "Cosmic Hallelujah", Lady Antebellum's "Heart Break", Little Big Town's "The Breaker", and Thomas Rhett's "Life Changes". His preceding album, From a Room: Volume 1, ended 2017 as the best-selling country album of the year.

After fronting The Steeldrivers and The Jompson Brothers, Stapleton broke out as a solo artist in 2015 with the release of his debut album, "Traveller".
