The Premier League relegation battle aside, Pardew will be hoping to steer his team as far as possible in the FA Cup to improve what has been a disappointing season so far.

Hoping to keep his World Cup hopes alive, Sturridge wants to make an impression on England manager Gareth Southgate, but will need consistent minutes to do so.

Liverpool had a miserable outcome against the Swans but will once again rely on the front trio of Roberto Firmino, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane. Luis Suarez may have taken all of the plaudits for that remarkable season, Sturridge was just as equally important to the team and when Suarez was initially suspended at the start of the season, it was Sturridge who was scoring the goals to carry Liverpool.

When the referee blows the final whistle, I predict that the score-line will be Liverpool 2-1 West Brom. But still they are 19th in the League, level on points with the bottom-ranked Swansea and two points behind Southampton in 18th position. He will also need to check on the focus of key centre-back Jonny Evans, who reportedly remains a target for Arsenal during the January transfer window.

Jordan Henderson is edging closer to a return from injury as he looks to recover fully from the hamstring injury that has sidelined him for the last four weeks.

West Brom have a couple of injuries in their squad.

This fixture will be the 150th game between the two sides.

The Baggies have lost only one of their last six games in all competitions.

The Reds will welcome the Baggies to Anfield on Saturday night, with the victor advancing into the fifth round of the FA Cup. A changed lineup shouldn't prevent Liverpool from using home advantage to make it through to the fifth round, though.

Sturridge now finds himself firmly behind Roberto Firmino and youngster Dominic Solanke in the Reds pecking order up front, and hasn't played since early December.

24 goals in 31 appearances and we are still in January.

Liverpool were held to a goalless draw by West Brom in the Premier League last month, so Klopp is aware of the challenge Alan Pardew's side could pose.

Whilst goals this season have not been hard to come by, their remains a doubt when it comes to the defence, even after the addition of Virgil van Dijk. Only one week before Liverpool looked unstoppable, taking a 4-1 lead over league leaders Manchester City and treating Pep Guardiola to his first defeat of the campaign.
