A victim of disgraced former MI sports doctor Larry Nassar has told a sentencing hearing about the sexual abuse he inflicted on her as a child - and warned him that "little girls don't stay little forever".
Biles is one of 140 women to accuse Nassar of sexual assault and molestation.
"There are many reasons that I have been reluctant to share my story, but now I know it is not my fault".
Biles' Olympic teammates Aly Raisman, McKayla Maroney and Gabby Douglas, part of the champion gymnastic team who became known as the "Fierce Five", were some of the first athletes to step forward as Nassar's alleged victims. He worked as the United States team physician for more than 20 years and was sentenced in December to 60 years in federal prison for possessing child pornography.
Nassarwill be sentenced on seven sexual assault charges in a MI court this week as part of a plea agreement and could receive life in prison. Now 20 years old, the Olympic championsays that she now realizes the answers to her questions are a resounding "No" and that she refuses to continue to "carry the guilt that belongs to Larry Nassar". No, It wasn't my fault.
"Larry abused his power and the trust I and so many others placed in him, and I am not sure I will ever come to terms with how horribly he manipulated and violated me", Raisman said. "We are all in this together".
She called Nassar's "special treatment" "unacceptable, disgusting and abusive" and said she had wondered whether being a victim was her own fault. In an emotional post on the social media platform Twitter, Simone Biles used the hashtag #MeToo to reveal that she is yet another one of Nassar's young female victims.
Simone Biles has to relive the incidences while telling the story to us but also relive it when she practices for upcoming competitions.
Nassar was accused of digitally penetrating gymnasts under the guise of treatment. She said that she is getting ready to train to compete in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, but also noted that she is already struggling with the knowledge that to do so, she "will have to continually return to the same training facility where I was abused".
According to accounts by more than 100 gymnasts, Nassar, who volunteered as the national team doctor for USA Gymnastics, abused the athletes under the guise of medical treatment for years, including at the national team training camps in Houston, Tex. and at global competitions. Nassar's sentencing hearing begins this week, after he pled guilty to seven counts of sexual misconduct back in November.
"After hearing the fearless stories of my friends and other survivors, I know that this horrific experience does not define me", she wrote.
