The 49-year-old was arrested for assaulting a peace officer and trespassing, according to the police.

Police called to the Hyatt Regency in downtown Houston to handle a drunk guest got more than they expected.

When other officers arrived, they found several guns inside the suspect's room.

Police arrested the intoxicated individual for trespassing, according to The Houston Chronicle, and discovered a semi-automatic AR-15 rifle, handgun, shotgun, and a lot of ammunition in his top-floor hotel room overlooking downtown Houston.

They looked around further and found the firearms, police Lt. Gordon Macintosh told KPRC. Police added that they don't believe he meant to use the weapons.


Stanley was arrested and charged with trafficking heroin, four counts of possession of scheduled drugs, unlawful carrying of a pistol and simple possession of marijuana. He said his truck was parked in the hotel garage.

COPS have collared a man in possession of a small arsenal of guns at a high-rise hotel where a major New Year's celebration is planned, in Houston, Texas. The man was taken to jail to await questioning. The hotel is planning a big bash for New Year's Eve, one that includes the dropping of 50,000 balloons at midnight.

The name of the man hasn't been immediately released.

"At this point, our investigators do not believe there was any kind of intent by him to use the weapons or to cause any kind of issue".
