Trump Jabs Vanity Fair For Apologizing For Video Mocking Hillary Clinton

While the majority of the replies to the video decried it as sexist and mean-spirited, some attributed it to Vanity Fair's attempt to be "edgy," or amusing - albeit, even those Twitter users said the jokes mostly fell flat.

The two-time presidential candidate was mocked in a Vanity Fair video that presented the former First Lady with several potential pastimes for the New Year-none of which included seeking office again.

Many who supported former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election have stated their intention to cancel their subscriptions to Vanity Fair in response to a video many have considered to be sexist.

Vanity Fair magazine apologised after receiving blowback on social media for a satirical video suggesting New Year's resolutions to Hillary Clinton.

The hashtag #CancelVanityFair began trending yesterday as commenters pledged to no longer subscribe to the magazine for its video.

"Vanity Fair, which looks like it is on its last legs, is bending over backwards in apologizing for the minor hit they took at Crooked H".

However, Twitter commenters accused Vanity Fair of using veiled sexism to criticize the first woman ever to secure a presidential nomination from a major USA political party, according to The Washington Post.

Trump went on to add that Anna Wintour was "a big fundraiser" for Clinton and had been "all set" to be ambassador to the Court of St. James's (the formal title used in the United Kingdom for the American ambassador). A-list celebrities like Patricia Arquette even weighed, suggesting the publication stop telling women what they should or can do.

The magazine's minute-long video showed writers and editors sipping champagne while coming up with all sorts of things Clinton could be doing now that she's no longer a presidential hopeful. "Get over your mommy issues". "History will judge that campaign, and it's always a period of time before they do", he said.

Trump's critics used it as another opportunity to pounce, calling out POTUS for seemingly confusing Wintour as the editor of Vanity Fair.

But prior to Thursday's tweet, Trump had been publicly cordial with Wintour, who is the editor of Vogue, which like Vanity Fair is owned by Conde Nast. She said it had "missed the mark".

But on Thursday, Trump couldn't resist a poke.
