Sam Darnold indicates he would not mind playing for the Browns

  • NFL mock draft 2018: Predicting top players, first round in 2018 NFL Draft (12/22/2017)

When asked Wednesday how he would look in a Browns uniform, Darnold told reporters that he doesn't prefer any team, saying he would be "honored to play for any (NFL) team". And the National Football League doesn't want players to be questioning too many things. They might want to, and people in the media may not give them that shot that there's a part of them that may want to be in college, that may want to play in this bowl game.

As we inch closer to the NFL Playoffs, the draft order is starting to take shape, at least at the top of the draft.

According to ESPN, Rosen has expressed concern about winding up in Cleveland, and would rather be with a more stable franchise.

Rosen could also return to school, effectively putting this story to rest, as long as the Browns don't own the number one overall pick once again in 2019.

In the event that the Browns view another quarterback equal or higher, be it Sam Darnold if he comes out, Baker Mayfield or someone else, they have an interesting opportunity. Rosen made headlines earlier in the week when a report suggested he was hesitant to enter the draft this year for fear of being drafted by the Browns.

Should Dorsey be able to get what amounts to a processing fee for Rosen, he then has the freedom to take his top quarterback with more assets to build the team. Considering Manning's regression this year, the fact he turns 37 in January, and a new head coach coming in it's likely the Giants will draft a quarterback in the first round. Rosen wanted to play, but he won't be allowed to do so.

Combining Rosen's questionable personality and the NY market (on and off the field) could be futile in the eyes of some, but the Giants organization will be the final judge of that, assuming Cleveland passes on him.
