USA urges Pakistan to take decisive action against terrorism

Pakistan's national security adviser on Monday alleged that the us, alongside India, is conspiring against a multi-billion-dollar Chinese project in the country.

Nasser KhanJanjua also accused the USA of conspiring against the multi-billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) with India, The Express Tribune reported.

While addressing a seminar on issues of national security in Islamabad, the official stated that India had been stockpiling a range of unsafe weapons as it threatens Pakistan continuously of conventional warfare.

'We make massive payments to Pakistan every year; they have to help, ' Trump says, announcing new national security strategy at the White House on Monday. The almost $50 billion CPEC, a flagship project of China's prestigious One Belt One Road (OBOR), passes through Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. He blamed his country's support for the USA in the region for the rise of terrorism and accused Washington of blaming Pakistan for its failures. "The CPEC links China'srestive Xinjiang region with Pakistan's Balochistan province.The US-India alliance has an identical stance on theKashmir issue, and America frequently gives India preferenceover Pakistan", Janjua said.

"We have made clear to Pakistan that while we desire continued partnership, we must see decisive action against terrorist groups operating on their territory".


"In Pakistan, we will build trade and investment ties as security improves and as Pakistan demonstrates that it will assist the United States in our counter-terrorism goals", it adds.

The US also wants to prevent "cross-border terrorism that raises the prospect of military and nuclear tensions", adds the document while pledging to prevent "nuclear weapons, technology, and materials from falling into the hands of terrorists".

"India is self-seeking a two front situation which does not auger well for the region".

Launching an unprecedented broadside against the United States, National Security Adviser (NSA) Lt Gen (retd) Nasser Khan Janjua has said that Washington has opted to side with New Delhi against Islamabad and "ignored our enormous sacrifices in the fight against terrorism". The National Security Advisor had that for "regional peace and stability, it is imperative for both the countries to engage with each and resolve their disputes".
