  • 3 big causes for concern for the Steelers versus the Ravens

With the help of his go-to customizer Corey Pane, Brown will lace up these Nike Alpha Pro cleats bearing a portrait of Shazier, a lion head and his motto "Shalieve".

A lot of them include wearing some sort of patch with their number on your uniform, but when it came to honoring linebacker Ryan Shazier, the Pittsburgh Steelers made a decision to step things up a bit by honoring their injured teammate with some custom cleats.

Shazier has been in the hospital since injuring his spine in Pittsburgh's Monday night win over the Bengals.

Schefter also reported sources told him doctors are controlling and limiting Shazier's movement as they wait for the swelling and bruising to subside.

He added that Shazier's season "is over" and that the Steelers said they are "concerned exclusively about his short- and long-term health". Several Steelers players will be honoring their injured teammate with special painted cleats. Shazier remained of the ground after the hit and pointed to his back before he was carted off the field.

If nothing else, the aftermath of Ryan Shazier injuring his neck (as well as other parts of his body) has taught us that he's a beloved member of the Steelers.

The 6-foot-1, 230-pound Shazier leads the team in tackles (89), interceptions (three) and pass deflections (11) this season.
