  • Team of staunch conservative allies defends Roy Moore in Alabama

Democrat Doug Jones took the lead over Moore in the bid for the open Alabama Senate seat by a margin of eight points, according to a Fox News poll released November 16. Tony Barbieri, who has long worked with Kimmel, praised Moore as "a man's man" and insisted of the Alabama Republican: "Does that look like the face of someone who hits on teenage girls?"

The White House had distanced itself from Moore in recent weeks, and several high-profile Republicans called on him to quit the race altogether, following several allegations of sexual misconduct.

"They're the Washington establishment. who don't want to lose their power", Moore said. Republican candidate Roy Moore doesn't find it amusing.

There's no way this doesn't end with Moore shooting Kimmel with that tiny gun of his.

The Moore campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment. "Despite D.C. and Hollywood Elites' bigotry towards southerners, Jimmy, we'll save you a seat on the front pew".

"Tune in to JKL tonight for a fun li'l trip to the heart of Dicksy", Barbieri wrote in an Instagram post showing him pointing at Moore. "P.S. - wear that cute little leather vest", a reference to Moore's clothing during a campaign event where he brandished a pistol.

The back-and-forth with Kimmel represented the most detailed questioning Moore has faced from a hostile interviewer since the original allegations were published by the Washington Post. Also, Moore refused to debate his Democratic opponent, Doug Jones, because Jones supports LGBT rights. "They're liberals. They don't hold conservative values".

On Wednesday, Moore doubled down on proclaiming his innocence. "They've tried unsuccessfully to change that". "They're socialists who want to change our way of life".

Moore said he believes his prosecution of drug cases when he was a district attorney angered certain people, and that this is at "the heart of this conspiracy" against him. He cited a report from a rightwing news network.

Moore, who faces off against Democrat Doug Jones on December 12, did not immediately respond to NBC News' request for comment.
