  • Google Bans Android Apps That Show Lockscreen Ads

Is it possible to save some mobile data from your plan without too many compromises? Maybe you have an annoying little pest that transmits bursts every so often without directly benefiting you?

Google has a new app called Datally for devices with at least Android 5.0.

Nevertheless, in most cases, shady app developers have misled users with false promises into using their custom lockscreen, which then rotated through various ads while the phone was charging, earning the app developer a profit.

Datally is a mobile-data saving application that helps a mobile user understand, control and save data allocation. Google's new Datally app allows users to track their data usage in real time and get personalised recommendations on how to save data. You'll also see which of your apps have used the most data, both recently and over the course of the past day.

While the inspiration for Datally came from developing countries where smartphones are linking growing numbers of people to the internet but mobile data costs are onerous, the idea of cutting service bills has universal appeal, according to NBU chief business officer Dave Shapiro. It also shows app-wise data consumption, i.e., YouTube, Instagram, Chrome, etc. Many times, you might not know this this is happening.

Tests of the app in the Philippines had shown that Datally could help save users up to 30 per cent on their data, Google said. By pressing the bubble at any point, you can block the app from using data.

Finding quality public Wi-Fi can be a challenge.

The app will also allow you access to a graph on usage daily, weekly, monthly wherein below you'll see which apps are consuming most, so that you can restrict or enable their access to data.

And in the interest of saving your data, Datally will alert you when you're near public wifi, and help you connect.

Once you're connected to a network, don't forget to rate it to help others in the Datally community find great Wi-Fi.

Final Words, there is no better than Google which makes the usage of an Android smartphone simple.
