  • Valkyria Chronicles 4 announced for Xbox One PS4 and Nintendo Switch

Following a teaser which emerged early last week, Sega has officially announced that Valkyria Chronicles 4 will arrive for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in 2018.

Announcing and hyping up what Sega is saying to be the best game in the series, Valkyria Chronicles now has a "4" next to its name. Finally, the legendary composer Hitoshi Sakimoto, who did the score for the original Valkyria Chronicles will once again be at the helm for Valkyria Chronicles 4.

Its story is something of a soft reboot for the franchise - Valkyria Chronicles 4 takes place around the same time as Valkyria Chronicles 1, although the action focuses on a fresh set of characters. It's a distinct part of the game's look that sets it apart from other titles, and from what's been showcased in the first trailer, it does look pretty good. It's up to Commander Claude Wallace and his loyal friends to help the operation succeed as they not only face overwhelming odds but endure the harsh elements. If you wish to play them, the first game is available on PS3, PS4 and PC. It follows the release of the Valkyria Chronicles Remaster for the PS4 and Valkyria Azure Revolution that recently launched for the PS4, Xbox One and PS Vita. Players will take control of a group of soldiers defending against the Imperial army in battles that blends turn-based strategy and third-person gunplay. "Our intent was to let fans experience Valkyria Chronicles' origins and core gameplay on a next-gen console before moving forward with a brand-new numbered entry to the main series".
