Saudi Arabia and its allies shut down Yemen's borders earlier this week after intercepting a ballistic missile fired by the Huthis near Riyadh airport on Saturday.

The near-term concern is for the lack of medicine, as northern Yemen is essentially out of everything at this point, and doctors say several hundred patients will die within the next week simply for lack of medicine.

A number of houses were also reportedly damaged in the strike.

The Houthis, fighters drawn mainly from Yemen's Zaidi Shia minority and allied to long-serving former president Ali Abdullah Saleh, control much of Yemen including the capital San'aa.

The Arabian coalition, which is fighting the rebels-Houthis in Yemen, lifted a temporary ban on flights to airports in Aden and Sauna in Yemen.

Al Masirah said the decision to threaten coalition vessels was taken after a meeting of naval officials who had discussed the possible response to the closure of Yemeni ports.

The Saudi-led coalition warplanes attacked Hodeidah on Friday and killed and injured 16 fisherman in al-Bawadi region.

The missile which was intercepted on November 4 has escalated tensions between regional foes Saudi Arabia and Iran, which Riyadh blames for supplying the missile to the Houthis. Saudi defense forces shot the missile down and there were no casualties.

Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Abdullah al-Mouallimi, told Asharq Al-Awsat on Thursday that a committee tasked with following up on UN decisions was now investigating the Iranian ballistic missiles in the framework of updating violations against UN Resolutions, adding that the Saudi side awaits the results of the probe.

The Yemeni government-held southern port of Aden reopened on Wednesday, but ports in Houthi-held areas are still closed.
