Florida police are investigating the Tallahassee chapter of a fraternity after a pledge was found dead on Friday morning after a party, as reported by Fox News.

No arrests have been made, said police spokesman David Northway, who added that several people were being questioned in connection with the death.

Members of Phi Delta Theta were seen carrying trash bags outside their house after police raided the fraternity.

Florida State University President John Thrasher says the move is meant to send a message to Greek organizations. "There must be a new culture, and our students must be full participants in creating it". After the February hazing death of 19-year old Timothy Piazza, Penn State suspended fraternities and sororities from holding social activities during the spring semester. They will, however, be allowed to stay in their houses and have meal service.

During the suspension, the only events Greek life members can conduct are meetings with the university or their national chapter.

Thrasher has also banned alcohol at all registered student organization events during the indefinite suspension.

Sophomore FSU student AnnaMaria Luciano lamented that her sorority's philanthropy was cancelled today after Thrasher's announcement. "They will have to participate in the solution", Thrasher said.

Paramedics say they found Coffey unresponsive when they arrived at an off-campus pledge party and were unable to revive him, but it's not clear yet what happened.

The Tallahassee Democrat reports that officers were collecting alcoholic beverage bottles that were scattered on the home's porch as evidence.
