Elizabeth Warren: The Democratic Primary Was Rigged for Hillary Clinton

  • Former DNC Chair Donna Brazile drops bombshell about Hillary Clinton

The ousted CNN contributor makes the surprising revelation in her book, titled "Hacks: The Inside Story of the Break-Ins and Breakdowns that Put Donald Trump in the White House", which is set to hit shelves November 7.

"By September 7, the day I called Bernie, I had found my proof and it broke my heart", Brazile wrote. Instead, the longtime political operative shares in this passage her shock, shock that the Clinton machine executed a takeover of the DNC long before the primaries began.

After making the "heartbreaking" discovery weeks before the primary election, Brazile said and had to break the news to Sanders, who had his suspicions about Clinton and the DNC. "This was not a criminal act, but as I saw it, it compromised the party's integrity". The reason for this state of affairs was that the #Hillary Clinton campaign, with the passive cooperation of #Debbie Wasserman Schultz, had seized control of the DNC and its fundraising apparatus and was using money usually reserved for down-ballot races for its own purposes.

Donna Brazile's op-ed in Politico is the equivalent of taking the smoldering embers of the 2016 primary and throwing some gasoline on them.

"The funding arrangement with [Hillary for America] and the victory fund agreement was not illegal, but it sure looked unethical", she said. "Trump won't set ObamaCare sign-up goal Frustrated with Trump, Dems introduce drug pricing bill MORE and Bernie Sanders" representatives into this process and they're going to say "it's fair, it works, we all believe it, ' or he's going to fail".

Donna Brazile has torn open an old, persistent wound within the Democratic Party.

Brazile found that her predecessor, Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, had allowed Clinton's headquarters in Brooklyn take care of the party's massive debt - which she claimed was up to $24 million after Barack Obama's 2012 campaign - and the other officers were kept in the dark about it. One email chain discussed bringing Sanders's Jewish religion into the campaign, others spoke of him derisively, and in one a lawyer who worked for both Clinton and the DNC advised the committee on how to respond to questions about the Clinton joint fundraising committee. Many of those emails described above came after it was abundantly clear that Clinton would be the nominee, barring a massive and nearly impossible shift in primary votes. She now calls this "a mistake I will forever regret".

Brazile took over as head of the DNC in July 2016 after then-DNC chairwoman, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, resigned following the release of leaked emails from WikiLeaks that showed DNC staffers discussing strategies that could be used against Sanders. "We'll give you some money, but we're going to put you on an allowance, and we're going to control the state, local and national fundraising apparatus, '" Watters said.

"What we've got to do as Democrats now is hold this party accountable", Warren said, adding that the current DNC chairman, former Labor Department Secretary Tom Perez is "being tested".
