  • Channel 4’s first Great British Bake Off prepares to crown winner

The Great British Bake Off judge made a huge mistake ahead of the Channel 4 show's much anticipated final on Tuesday 31 October.

Speaking about the changes, Betway's Alan Alger said: "The Bake Off's move to Channel 4 has been more or less seamless, with the exception of the new faces fronting the show".

She earlier told the Press Association she had been confused by the time difference between the Asian country and the United Kingdom, thinking the final had already aired. "Bravo (sic)", and then the name of the victor appeared.

The official news might not come as a huge shock to everyone after new judge Prue Leith accidentally let slip this year's victor earlier today.

An upset-sounding Leith said: 'I'm in Bhutan.

"I think I am pretty cool, calm and collected".

Another posted: "Prue Leith man what a joke thought I was safe on twitter until later (sic)".

The show has enjoyed a successful year on Channel 4.

She impressed the judges for the tenth week with three different varieties of bread for the signature challenge and came second on the ginger biscuit technical. Who will win? Thrilled to say Paul, Noel Sandi & I will all be back!

Hollywood was criticised when he chose to move with the ex-BBC programme, with fans saying that the show could be doomed.

Faldo and all the bakers will join Jo Brand on Bake Off spin-off show An Extra Slice at 10pm on Thursday on Channel 4.
