Saturday's mission was about highlighting the unsung heroes, but it wasn't hard to spot a few superheroes in the sea of pink.

Thousands of walkers took part in the 20th annual breast cancer walk.

"It's a matter of sharing". "I've been blessed to get through it, and I pray every day for those who just get diagnosed, those going through treatment, and survivors that they find a cure".

"It's a sisterhood, and it feels great to not be alone", breast cancer survivor April Faulise said. The organization credits that number to the millions of dollars raised and the thousands of courageous people who continue to search for a cure.

"When you have breast cancer it not only affects you, it affects everybody in your life".

"I have lots of friends who've had breast cancer", survivor Candy Stieler said. She believes the best way to help is to just show up and help out. "If breast cancer wasn't around I think it'd make everybody happy".

People of all ages, dressed in their pink attire, gathered at the Brickyard to support breast cancer awareness, celebrate its survivors and raise funds for the American Cancer Society to combat the disease. Our Jessica Foster was the survivor speaker at the walk and Neysa Wilkins was the event chair.
