Remnants of Nate to bring rain, wind to NJ on Columbus Day

  • A few showers possible with warm temps through the weekend

Before I get into the nitty-gritty, let me quickly recap Hurricane Nate.

Buttrick said the combination of storms today and the tropical remains of Nate tomorrow could dump between 1 and 2 inches of rain on parts of MA.

The widespread rain will then taper to scattered showers, which will continue into Thursday and possibly Friday as well.

Starting the morning off dry, but patchy dense fog has started to develop over portions of central Indiana. "It is going to be, but not the heavy rain we were expecting".

Less humid weather returns soon. It's been a cool day as well with highs today only reaching the upper 60s and lower 70s.

"Much better weather will arrive [on Tuesday]", Haney said. We'll have until Wednesday to loose the humidity completely. This is "beneficial rain", as we are now below average for this time of year.

More rain is in the forecast after Monday. Afternoon highs in the low 80s, with overnight lows Wednesday and Thursday night dropping below 60°. High pressure will poke into South Jersey, enough to keep us from an all-night rain Sunday night.

Anytime our wind comes from the east all day, it brings in the air sitting about the Atlantic Ocean.

Keep the Umbrella in the auto a few days this week. During the mid morning through the early afternoon it looks like we will see some showers.

Highs top out in the middle 70s.

For scale, the average high is 67 these days.
