'Morning Joe's' Mika Brzezinski to Cancel Book Deal Unless Harvey Weinstein Resigns

  • Former Fox News reporter claims that Harvey Weinstein masturbated into a plant pot in front of her after cornering her in a New York restaurant

"I can't go forward with those books unless Harvey resigns", Brzezinski added.

In a story told to HuffPo's Yashar Ali, Sivan, then a local news anchor for News 12 Long Island, recalls meeting Weinstein at New York's Cipriani restaurant in 2007. She later rode with him and others to Socialista, a Cuban-themed club and restaurant in which Weinstein and Giuseppe Cipriani, who was then the head of the Cipriani restaurant empire, were investors.

After Sivan rejected his advances, stating that she had a long-term boyfriend, Weinstein allegedly began to masturbate in front of her until he ejaculated into a potted plant, before zipping his pants up and returning to the party.

Weinstein Books announced in July that it would publish three books by Brzezinski, with the first, a revised edition of her bestseller "Knowing Your Value: Women, Money, and Getting What You're Worth", slated for release in spring 2018 and two more books in the series set for fall 2018.

A Democratic senator says it "probably makes sense" for all arms of the party that have received contributions from disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein to return it or donate it to charity. He then proceeded to expose himself and allegedly masturbated in front of her and then ejaculated into a nearby plant. "Sivan said she reluctantly agreed and they went downstairs to the restaurant", HuffPo reports.

She described the incident to the Huffington Post. She said he finished quickly and they walked back into the kitchen.

"I have a three-book deal with Weinstein Books, through Hachette", read another tweet. His attorney Lisa Bloom also resigned on Saturday, despite initially defending him after he retained her as an advisor. She met both as they were headed up from the cafe and says that Sivan told her what happened right after they left the club.

A New York Times report had eight women - including current and former employees of Weinstein - and Hollywood actress Ashley Judd sharing their experiences with Weinstein. "Let's just say they have an "inconsistent" relationship".

As Weinstein left for an indefinite absence from work, one-third of his company's board members submitted their resignation. She told him no and ended the call.
