  • Giants' Dwayne Harris suffers broken foot vs. Chargers

The Chargers-Giants game featured a amusing safety today.

Manning, who was sacked five times, also threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to backup Roger Lewis Jr.in the third quarter.

When Manning, who was drafted by the Chargers No. 1 overall, looked back on that trade, he had some not so warming words for Los Angeles.

Manning has led the team to a pair of Super Bowl titles since taking over the quarterback duties in NY, defeating the Patriots twice in two tries.

Quarterback Philip Rivers threw three touchdown passes, two of which came in the second half and one of which brought his team back from behind, to lead the Los Angeles Chargers to a 27-22 win over the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium.

Chargers cornerback Casey Hayward vs. Giants receiver Odell Beckham: Ankle and finger injuries have slowed Beckham this year, but even at less than 100 percent, the three-time Pro Bowler is one of the most dynamic talents in the league. Evading pressure and throwing off his back foot, Rivers completed a 25-yard touchdown pass to tight end Hunter Henry.

Los Angeles punched right back with a touchdown on their first possession of the second quarter. The Giants held opponents to 17.8 points last season, second-fewest in the league; they are up to 23.8, eighth-most in 2017.

The Chargers made it 22-20 on a 31-yard field goal by Novak before taking the lead for good on the Rivers to Gordon 10-yard strike. He has lost to Philip Rivers twice and Drew Brees once.

Manning responded on the very next drive, facing down a blitz, stepping up in the pocket and hitting a wide-open Beckham, who meandered past the pinching secondary, for a 48-yard strike less than two minutes into the fourth.
