  • Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling aren't as intimidating as they seem

Ford plays the titular "blade runner", an ex-cop assigned to assassinate androids known as "replicants".

However, you're not Alison Hammond of British ITV series This Morning, who was so bubbly in a Wednesday interview that she turned a chat with Ford and his Blade Runner 2049 co-star Ryan Gosling into a mad laugh factory. In addition to the standard "What makes someone human?" stuff that was farmed in from the first movie, one character references a metaphorical wall that separates us, and the weird, unpredictable Los Angeles weather winks at some particularly extreme climate change. But even more so, the original didn't exactly end with a concrete point to spawn a sequel or series. "Blade Runner 2049" keeps teasing these larger ideas while it doggedly, deliberately pursues its central mysteries of defining identity and societal "order". "This one was more civilized, just slightly more civilized". Certainly there's much of the same tiresome creation mythology and Christ-imagery, along with the throat-clearing monologues about angels and demons (here delivered by Jared Leto's crazy-eyed AI visionary). Most of the time, free stuff at conventions sucks, but that is decidedly not the case with these gorgeous Blade Runner 2049 posters. I have attached an approved Warner Bros. trailer to this article to give you the feel of the movie so you can choose.

There are multiple versions of the original Blade Runner and director Ridley Scott believes that the version released in 2007 is the closest to his original dream.

Created by visionary Blade Runner 2049 director Denis Villeneuve and Scottish Johnnie Walker Master Blender Jim Beveridge, the limited edition whisky will also feature in the new film.

Wright, a steely actress seemingly born for the world of "Blade Runner", is speaking to her replicant detective, K (Ryan Gosling). The problem is that almost every film about artificial intelligence mines familiar ideas about how humanity should treat its creations if and when they achieve sentience.

"Blade Runner 2049", the long-awaited sequel to the 1982 cult classic, has finally arrived. Again, though, this movie tries to get at something new, even if it feels far-fetched. What will likely please them is the devotion by Villenueve and cinematographer Roger Deakins to the aesthetics of the original film. K's investigation puts him on a collision course with Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), the blade runner from the original movie, and hints at a greater conspiracy that threatens to upend the entire Blade Runner universe. Replicants only have a four-year lifespan. Do you view this as a sequel?
