  • PHILADELPHIA PA- AUGUST 17 Philadelphia Eagles running back Le Garrette Blount is tackled by Buffalo Bills linebacker Ramon Humber during a NFL preseason game between the Buffalo Bills and the Philadelphia Eagles

Limited all week in practice with a back injury, Jones suited up and caught the first pass of the game from Matt Ryan.

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones was ruled out of Sunday afternoon's game against the Buffalo Bills due to a hip injury.

Defense draws blood: While the Bills defense has seemingly done it all coming into Sunday's game, they actually have not, until now.

Ryan completed 24 passes on 42 attempts for 242 yards. It came one play after Taylor found Charles Clay for a gain of 44 yards to the Atlanta 9 yard line. Before the win, Buffalo had lost nine straight when not running for more than 75 yards. Freeman had 79 yards on 18 attempts. While it would be nice for the Falcons to stay undefeated heading into their bye-week, a win for the Bills would surely send shock waves through the National Football League and AFC East. The Falcons were left with Taylor Gabriel as the only other receiver with more than 2 targets on the entire season.

Hauschka padded the lead with a 55-yarder with about three minutes remaining. Micah Hyde intercepted two of Ryan's passes, giving Ryan five in his last two games.

There was no individual play that sent Jones off the field. He finished the game with 108 yards from scrimmage, rushing 20 times for 76 yards and adding three catches for 32 yards.

That field goal proved to be key.

The Falcons went into the game with several key injuries, including safety Ricardo Allen, right tackle Ryan Schraeder and defensive lineman Courtney Upshaw.
