The PROBE into the murder of seven-year-old Pradyuman Thakur, who was killed inside a bathroom at Ryan International School's Bhondsi branch last week, will now be handed over to the CBI.

On action against the school, Mr Khattar said the government has chose to take over the management of the school for three months. The announcement was made by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, when he went to visit the child's family in Gurgaon on Friday afternoon.

"We have also decided that the management of the school will be taken over by the government for three months".

A class II student of Ryan International School was found murdered with his throat slit inside a toilet of Ryan International School on Friday, triggering public outrage.

The claims and counter claims by school authorities and support staff members along with allegations of an attempted cover up that were leveled by Pradyuman's family members had raised serious concerns over the fairness of the probe in the sensational murder case.

"I am glad that the sensitivity that this case deserves has been shown", Pradyuman's father Varun Thakur was quoted by the Indian Express as saying.

Police have arrested Ashok Kumar, a conductor of one of the school's buses, as the prime suspect in the case. "I appeal to the CBI to investigate the case as expeditiously as possible", Khattar said.

He said that the schools should have adequate surveillance by functional CCTV cameras, besides ensuring safe neighbouring premises. "I am also assuring them that the culprits in this case whether it is from the school management or otherwise, will not be spared", Khattar said.

The Bombay High Court had rejected their bail plea yesterday and asked them to submit their passports to the police. The SIT probe found shocking laxity on the part of the school regarding security and safety of the children.
