  • Weather warning issued for south west coast for tomorrow

Heavy rain is expected later on Tuesday and early on Wednesday across parts of Northern Ireland and southern Scotland.

The wind will bring with it a risk of potential travel disruption, power cuts and damage to trees and buildings.

On Sunday, Met Éireann issued a similar Status Yellow warning with Mayo, Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim included on the list.

Strong winds and stormy weather are set to batter the capital this week.

Please stay up to date with the weather warnings via the Met Office and stay Weather Aware.

The likelihood of homes and businesses being affected by any flooding is low, the Met Office says.

Wales and the southwest will bear the brunt tomorrow before central and northern England move into the firing line on Tuesday.

Flooding also hit a section of the M60 motorway in Salford with Transport for Greater Manchester urging drivers to take extra care due to the amount of water on the roads.

Temperatures are also set to plummet today with highs of 17C dashing any hopes of an Indian Summer.

Heavy showers are expected throughout Monday and overnight into Tuesday.

Motorists are being warned to be vigilant if driving during the expected severe weather conditions.

It will track eastwards across the country from Galway to Dublin, with very strong winds affecting the coastal counties of the southwest, south and possibly parts of the east coast later.
