Instagram starts testing Facebook's app-like Canvas ads within Stories feed

Stories feature, which has been inspired by Snapchat Stories, is quite popular on Instagram. The second screenshot shows that the Facebook Story will indicate that it was created and shared using the Instagram app along with the timestamp just beneath the user's name.

The Stories feature, which is a copy of the Snapchat feature, was added to Instagram in August 2016. After introducing the Stories feature on Instagram, the social media giant tried to push it on its Facebook app. "We have no other plans to share at this time", an Instagram spokesperson said in an official statement, as per Mashable. The Facebook owned subsidiary Instagram is also doing wonders and is no less than California based company.


"We are beginning to test an integration of Canvas with ads in Instagram Stories". According to a report in TheNextWeb, the new comment bubbles are available for a small fraction of users as of now and it is unclear at this point whether the feature will make it to a wider rollout. Instagram, after all, is all about glossy, magazine-like photos and sharing experiences, while Facebook's main app is a bit more akin to a traditional high school yearbook. Perhaps by mixing Facebook and Instagram's Stories together, Facebook could solve this problem. And news use among Snapchat's user base increased 12 percentage points, to 29% now, up from 17% in early 2016. In a recent tweet by The Next Web's Matt Navarra, it looks like Instagram is testing out a new feature where users can upload Stories onto Instagram and be given the option to upload to Facebook simultaneously as well.
