Criticising Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's best administrator award from Outlook magazine, the BJP chief said an award can never take the State forward when the government itself is involved in corruption.

"The demonetisation has not had any negative impact (on economic growth)". Way ahead of the elections BJP has begun with its campaign, with Amit Shah personally visiting all the states and holding meetings with the party workers and discuss the election strategy.

Shah is on a three-day visit to Odisha to galvanise the party workers for the 2019 assembly polls. Shah claimed the BJP would win 120 of the 147 Assembly seats in the next polls in Odisha as "people are disillusioned with the dynastic rule in the state".

The Indigenous Nationalist Party of Twipra (INPT) has made a decision to form electoral alliance with BJP to fight against the the CPM in 2018 Assembly polls.

He said it was yet to be decided on who would lead the state BJP in the next assembly elections. In five of the eight states, we have chief ministers who are members of the NEDA.

On the question of whether Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan will be the Chief Ministerial candidate of the party in Odisha, Shah said the party hasn't decided on any candidate yet. But, we are not getting the state's required support to take up the developmental projects.

The BJP said it had to cancel the event - where a huge number of people were expected to come - due to lack of venue. "As the first step of one-on-one fight, six Trinamool Congress MLAs, along with lakhs of their followers, merged with BJP last month", a BJP leader said. "The Modi Government and the BJP have worked upon throwing out killer groups from the North East, while Bangladesh lands boundary agreement has been a success, because after the agreement, the North East has got direction", Shah said.
