The 10 anniversary iPhone is expected to be showcased at Apple's product announcement at its new headquarters in California next month, potentially putting to bed rumours of delays due to supply chain issues.

Tech Crunch reported that additional features on the phone would include facial recognition for unlocking, an OLED display which will improve power efficiency and rendering of true black in graphics and images.

I don't think the concept of a premium iPhone will be a one-off - I expect Apple to release relatively high-priced iPhone models each year with features that are too costly, or that simply can not yet be manufactured in high volumes, for the mainstream iPhone models at mainstream price points.

The iPhone 8 will, of course, not be launching alone; it'll be accompanied by both the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus, and may even also be joined by the Apple Watch Series 3, if some reports are accurate.

When will it be released?

Rumors claim the the final version of iOS 11 will come out at the same time the next generation of iPhone devices are announced.

The event is expected to feature updates to the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, called the iPhone 7S and 7S Plus, as well as a significant new handset with a different design and a screen which nearly covers the entire front panel. Given that more than 50% of the company's revenues are generated by the iPhone, it's disturbing news, especially for shareholders. Apple's in a bit of a rut, after sales of the smartphone haven't been what they used to be.

It's suppose to be the most expensive iPhone Apple has made in the ten years of it's production. In June we posted a report titled "Apple Working on a Future Hand Gesturing Interface to Control Gaming, Apple TV and Home Appliances".

Here in the United Kingdom, that could mean that people who opt for the top-of-the-line model and add extra memory could be saddled with a bill alarmingly close to £1,000.

Stay tuned on GIZBOT for more updates on Apple iPhone 8. However, the screen won't be prominently curved like Samsung phones, such as the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus.

As evidenced by its strong Q4 guidance, Apple continues to bet on itself and expects to maintain its high-operating momentum through the rest of the year. Their sources confirmed that the company will be unveiling three iPhones, one of which will be the highly anticipated iPhone 8.
