  • In a second video the girls can be heard laughing before one of them opens the refrigerator door

"I think it was all foolishness, stupidity", Bonnie said.

The girls attempted to explain away their actions by saying they were merely reaching for a bottle to feed the crying baby.

Two teenage babysitters are taking heat after allegedly chilling a baby inside a refrigerator.

The girls both face charges of child endangerment and assault and battery with a unsafe weapon.

Video posted to Snapchat shows the accused girls putting the baby in the refrigerator, closing the door and laughing as the baby's screams are heard through the refrigerator door.

The baby's mother asked her niece and a friend to watch her infant daughter for a few minutes so she could take a shower Monday evening at a hotel in Danvers.

The child stays in the ice chest for a couple of moments until the point that one of the youngsters opens the entryway and expels the shouting baby.

One of the teens is her niece, the baby's cousin. "I don't want anyone near my child anymore", the child's mother, who was identified as Bonnie. Teenagers are silly, stupid, foolish - they do things like that - and I've been a teenager before.

The baby was not injured in the incident and is home safe with its family. "I will no longer be leaving my children with my niece or her friends again ever in my life".

The Department of Children and Families, Danvers Police, and the Essex County District Attorney's Office are involved in the investigation.
