  • WATCH: Tillerson says he isn't 'very happy' with Russia sanctions, but is hopeful about improving relations

"Iran's JCPOA supervisory body assessed the new USA sanctions and decided that they contradict parts of the nuclear deal", Speaker of the Iranian parliament Ali Larijani was quoted as saying by the Tasnim news agency.

Iran is called upon not to undertake any activity related to ballistic missiles created to be capable of delivering nuclear weapons, including launches using such ballistic missile technology, until the date eight years after the JCPOA Adoption Day or until the date on which the IAEA submits a report confirming the Broader Conclusion, whichever is earlier.

The high commission of iran to monitor the implementation of the nuclear deal, which includes Mr. Rohani and other senior officials of the country, "has adopted 16 measures against the action of the United States", said Mr. Araghchi without detailing these "measures". He did not elaborate, but said some measures "improve" Iran's armed forces.

US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said on Tuesday that he and US President Donald Trump disagree about the nuclear deal.

The US sanctions, approved by Congress in a 419-3 vote, impose penalties on people involved in Iran's ballistic missile program, enforce an arms embargo and apply terrorism sanctions to Iran's Revolutionary Guard (IRGC).

The sanctions target Iran's missile program and human rights violations, which were not covered under the 2015 nuclear deal.

However, he has since twice re-certified the deal, most recently in July, extending the sanctions relief granted to Iran under the agreement.

"Undoubtedly it is not our war, it is a war between Iran and the USA, the war between Iran and the Arabs, the war between Indians and the Pakistanis, our officials should focus on this", said MP Farhad Majidi. The US must certify to Congress every 90 days that Iran is complying with the deal.

"As long as we allow the Iranian regime to violate this Council's prohibitions with impunity, it will be a source of weapons to terrorist groups that will only grow in volume and destructive capability", Haley wrote.

President Hassan Rouhani is going to notify Iranian organizations, including the Foreign Ministry and the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, of the details of the new decision.

In attendance, according to Iran's state-run Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), is North Korea's second-most powerful leader, Kim Yong-nam. Araqchi said Tehran's response would be "intelligent".
